Plano Shopping Trip

Get ready to be blown away! Plano is the perfect blend of modern luxury and historic charm. With the opening of Legacy West, Plano can now go toe-to-toe with anything Dallas has to offer. The shopping landscape showcases the best of upscale fashion and one-of-a-kind boutiques nestled in innovative settings and pop-up surprises. Take advantage of the incredible shopping, enticing cuisine and adventurous outdoor activities Plano has to offer!

Where To Stay

We have a couple of favorite spots to recommend, but keep in mind that Plano offers more than 7,000 hotel rooms with “best in class” service awards, so you have plenty of lodging options to choose from that won’t break the bank! Check out a full list of hotels here.

But if you’re thinking of bumping your getaway up a notch, consider the Renaissance at Plano Legacy West. Centrally located off the Dallas North Tollway on Legacy Drive, this luxury hotel is the anchor for the $3 billion Legacy West development and offers 304-rooms across 15 stories! The Renaissance at Plano Legacy West is in the heart of all the best shopping in Plano. From lounging at the rooftop pool to being walking distance to top-notch shops—this is luxury living.

We are also big fans of the 4-star Marriott at Legacy Town Center. The hotel is just steps away from The Shops at Legacy, which offers high-end shopping and dining options, making this a prime location for a weekend getaway or a memorable shopping staycation experience. You’ll enjoy upscale accommodations plus the outdoor pool!

Where To Shop

Legacy West has a lineup of upscale retailers you won’t find anywhere else. Favorites include Tommy Bahama, Pockets, Read Between the Lines, and Bonobos. No matter your style, you’re bound to find your next favorite outfit at Legacy West.

Hours: Monday-Sunday: 9am-10pm

Plano has become a shopping destination and The Shops at Legacy reflects a new level of quality. Here you can enjoy fun eateries, high-end shopping, bakeries and more, all in an upscale, walkable atmosphere. From May to December enjoy Legacy Live from 6:30-9:30pm. Check out the live music line up here.

Dining, great services, retail and art—Downtown Plano Arts District has it all! This vibrant community comes to life with the performing arts, galleries and seasonal events. It’s conveniently located near the DART Rail, so you can hop on and be here in no time! The historic buildings of downtown are wonderfully mixed with new and innovative shops.

The Shops at Willow Bend provides luxury brands and more. With the recent $145 million renovation to this beautiful center, you’ll discover a wonderful blend of Texas-style apparel and upscale shopping. The fountains and open walkways create a comfortable environment while heading to one of the many restaurants or darting toward a sale.

Where To Eat

Plano is making a name for itself as a foodie destination, whether you’re the adventurous type, a vegetarian, or just in the mood for a good old-fashioned burger. For beef that’s arguably the GOAT (greatest of all time), check out Rodeo Goat, or sit down for a staggering 21-course feast at Shumi Omakase!

Run, don’t walk to Legacy Food Hall, the ultimate food court filled with over 15 different cuisine and dining options. Our faves include Roots Chicken Shak,  Brisket Love and Forno Nero. Don’t forget to save room for dessert at Haute Sweets or a popsicle at Berrynaked.

Looking for lunch in paradise? Take a shopping break at Tommy Bahama in Legacy West, one of only two locations in the entire state! Enjoy Macadamia Nut Crusted Snapper while sipping on a Grapefruit Basil martini, all in a tropical oasis.

New to The Shops at Willow Bend is The District, a collection of buzz-worthy restaurants like Knife by celebrity chef John Tesar, Terra Mediterranean and Mexican Bar Co.

The Boardwalk at Granite Park is a 30,000 square foot restaurant pavilion in Granite Park. Check out two of our favorites, the Biscuit Bar, a delicious and unique take on sandwiches, and Union Bear Brewing Co., a locally owned and operated brewery. The area has multiple restaurants with beautiful patios, outside games like Connect Four and Corn Hole and it’s a great place to stroll, dine, and unwind.

What To Do

Take a zipline and canopy tour at Go Ape in Oak Point Park. It’s the perfect combination of picturesque views of the woodlands and a rip-roaring adventure with over 38 thrilling crossings! Go Ape takes scenic to new levels with more than 8 miles of trails, kayaking, paddle boarding and ziplining.

Bowling has never been more fun than at Pinstack Bowl. The décor is modern, the food is chef-inspired, and the entertainment is a one-of-a-kind experience. Accompanying the bowling lanes are a two-level laser tag arena, high-ropes course, and much more. Looking to have a more relaxing game night? Grab a drink from the full service bar and bowl on a VIP lane.

Southfork Ranch is a must-visit (even if it’s a quick drive-by). The iconic house from the television series “Dallas,” Southfork Ranch is in nearby Parker, a quick drive from Downtown Plano.

Visit Plano every September for the Plano Balloon Festival, and find out why Plano is called the Hot Air Balloon Capital of Texas.
